Spring 2010 Class
Academy Students:

The inaugural class of the Academy began April 20th and finished June 8th. Fourteen early stage, civic-minded entrepreneurs from the Denver metro area participated. Their businesses varied widely and included; a social media firm, graphic and visual artists, organizational development consultants, an auto repair shop, a parts manufacturer, health care practitioners and several social enterprises. A public Showcase was held on June 22nd that featured a presentation from Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, two panel discussions and presentations from four of the Academy’s entrepreneurs on their TBL plans.
"The Greater Good Academy connected me with other entrepreneurs striving to learn about and implement TBL business plans. This environment in and outside of class was motivating and has provided opportunities for networking and giving back to the community. I walked away with practical tools and knowledge that I can start applying to my own company and share with others."
Amalia Maloney, AmaliaLink LLC
"The Academy helped me define what a social entrepreneur is and how the triple bottom line will help our company grow."
Ratha Sok, 2Kool
Mentors:
With the help of hands-on mentors and exceptional faculty, each company by the end of the Academy had developed their own triple bottom line (TBL) business plan. With plan in hand, many of the entrepreneurs continue to work with their mentors and stay involved with the Academy through a newly formed Alumni Network. Members of the Network are actively sharing best practices, pursuing joint business opportunities and developing a partnership ‘community service’ project.
